The Britmix Story

Britmix® is the result of the coming
together of two successful entities with a common purpose.

Lapwing UK. Ltd, (the owners of the Britmix® brand) started out as a specialist supplier of diamond cutting tools to the civil engineering, utilities and road maintenance industries back in 1997. They have grown to become one of the UK’s leading suppliers to these industries across a broad range of products.

Infra Road Group (Sweden) saw the need for a cold set emergency asphalt repair product that could cope with their cold climate. Most delayed set products became unviable in the cold. They developed (over many years) a product and a method that has widespread acceptance in Scandinavia. Due to its unique mode of action, it remains workable in low temperatures whilst giving an extremely durable, instant, repair.

When IRG wanted to bring the product to the UK they secured a UK manufacturing partner and carried out trials with
Cumbria County Council. When the development process was interrupted by Covid-19, they offered the product to Lapwing, (who were a trading partner), as the UK distributor.

After evaluating the product, the
decision was made to introduce it to the UK market as Britmix® a Lapwing
branded product.
